The pottery studio is nestled near Bowker Creek in the historic Oak Bay area of Greater Victoria, located one block east of Oak Bay High School. In his garden studio Ron produces his stoneware and earthenware lines. He is delighted to show visitors the variety and scope of his work.

The Creekside Pottery Studio is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 - 5 p.m. but please phone first for an appointment.

Ron produces in his studio a wide range of work, mainly high-fired stoneware and earthenware pottery. The work ranges from "one-of-a-kind" pieces for decoration and contemplation, to an excellent selection of functional pottery for everyday use. The pottery is wheel thrown or made from originally designed moulds. He also creates interesting and unique handbuilt forms using slab building and free form techniques, Ron also produces artworks for special commissions for interior design and architectural use.

The Stoneware is fired in his gas kiln to temperatures up to 2300 F, to ensure the ware's strength and rich colours highlighting the intensity and details of the glazes and brushwork. The stoneware line includes functional tableware such as: casseroles, pieplates, jugs, teapots, bowls, platters, square dinner and sushi plates.

Much of Ron's work reflects Asian influences, such as Japanese style brushwork and decoration that he uses in his surface design. His specialty dinner and sushi plates are in high demand.

All is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe with reasonable care.

The Earthenware is electric kiln fired and consists primarily of wall tiles with Westcoast themes such as mermaids, fish and birds. The tiles can be used purely as a wall art, or included in a garden or home installation

His decorative "fun" and whimsical vases and garden fountains complete his earthenware line.

A recurring theme in Ron's work is the symbol of the fish, which for the Chinese represents "abundance and affluence". It is Ron's intent that pottery with a fish symbol will enhance the bringing of good fortune into your home and workplace.
